The Roots Below

The Lynx´s Path - Chapter 39

The seventh day of February dawned with a heavy mist, clinging to the trees and blanketing the ground in a quiet stillness. The man awoke feeling a deep pull toward the earth, as though the world beneath his feet was whispering a gentle reminder: stay grounded, remember your roots.

At his altar, he placed a small piece of smoky quartz beside his candle, its earthy tones grounding and protective. Lighting the candle, he sat in silence, his hands resting lightly on his knees. He whispered:

“Earth that holds me, teach me to root myself in your strength. Show me the power of stillness and connection.”

The lynx’s presence was steady and watchful, her energy merging with the grounding pull of the earth. She reminded him that while the sky inspired dreams, the soil nurtured their growth.

He decided to spend the morning connecting with the earth in a tangible way. Wrapping himself in a warm scarf, he stepped outside and walked barefoot in his garden, feeling the cold, damp soil beneath his feet. Each step seemed to deepen his awareness of the steady rhythm of life below the surface.

As he worked, turning the soil with his hands and gently touching the roots of dormant plants, he reflected on his own roots—his heritage, his values, and the connections that nourished him. He thought of the people and places that had shaped him, each one a thread in the tapestry of his life.

In the afternoon, he visited a large oak tree at the edge of the forest, a familiar friend whose roots stretched deep into the earth. Sitting with his back against its trunk, he placed his palms flat against the bark, imagining the vast network of roots below. The tree felt alive with wisdom, its steady presence a reminder of endurance and strength.

That evening, he wrote in his journal:

“The earth teaches us to ground ourselves in what truly matters. It reminds us that growth is not rushed but supported by the strength of our roots. Today, I honor the earth and the grounding connection it provides.”
