Mercury´s Whisper
The Lynx´s Path - Chapter 14
The thirteenth day of the year dawned with a stillness that felt alive. Mercury was still in retrograde, its influence humming in the background like a quiet refrain. The man, aware of its presence, began his day with a deliberate pause, knowing that this was a time for reflection, not for rushing forward. He brewed his tea slowly, letting the aroma fill the air as he sat at his altar. Mercury, the planet of communication, travel, and intellect, had often taught him the value of slowing down to revisit the past. As he lit his candle, he thought of the unfinished letters in his journal—words he had never sent, ideas he had never shared.
Today, he resolved to finish them.
One letter was to his younger self, offering wisdom he had gained since those uncertain days. Another was to someone who had once hurt him, not with anger but with compassion, releasing the weight of old wounds. The third was to the universe itself, a promise to stay open to the lessons of the year ahead.
In the afternoon, he walked to a familiar grove, carrying the letters in his hand. The lynx’s presence was a steady guide, her energy reminding him to tread carefully yet purposefully. At the grove, he folded the letters neatly and placed them in a small hollow beneath a tree. Lighting a piece of sage, he watched the smoke spiral upward, carrying his words into the vast unknown.
“Mercury reminds me to pause, to reflect, to revisit,” he whispered. “In stillness, I find clarity.”
That evening, he wrote in his journal:
“Today, I spoke to the past and released its hold on me. Mercury’s whisper is not a demand but an invitation—to look back, to mend, and to find the strength to move forward.”
