A Mirror in the Stillness
The Lynx´s Path - Chapter 19
The eighteenth day began with an unusual calm. After the restless winds of the previous day, the air now felt still and heavy, like the pause between breaths. The man rose early and lit the candles on his altar, sensing that today was about reflection and inner stillness. He began his morning with a ritual of cleansing. Drawing a basin of cold water, he added a few drops of lavender oil and a small piece of clear quartz. He cupped the water in his hands and gently washed his face, imagining the water clearing not just his skin, but his mind.
Sitting before his altar, he gazed into a small mirror. The mirror was an heirloom, its edges worn smooth by time. He held it in his hands and studied his reflection—not just his features, but the emotions he carried beneath the surface. “What do you see?” the lynx’s voice seemed to whisper in his mind.
He let his thoughts wander, memories rising like ripples on a still pond. Moments of joy, pain, and growth passed before his inner vision. Instead of pushing them away, he allowed them to settle, each memory finding its place in the quiet weave of his story.
In the afternoon, he walked to the nearby stream, where the water mirrored the overcast sky. Kneeling by the edge, he observed how the reflections shifted with the slightest movement. “Even in stillness, there is change,” he thought. The lynx’s energy felt near, a reminder that clarity often comes when we stop searching.
That evening, he wrote in his journal:
“Today, the stillness held a mirror to my soul. It showed me who I am, not in perfection but in truth. I honor the reflections and trust the quiet to guide me forward.”
